During episode 7 of The Changing Earth Audio Drama, Cole Virgis leads his team into a deadly radiation zone in search of rouge climate refugees. As the rain comes down, the situation grows dire. The reality of this situation is that large deposits of nuclear waste stabilize in fifty-gallon holding tanks in many areas of the United States. President Bush would take care of the situation and make one centralized storage facility called Yucca mountain. When Obama became president, he halted the movement of all the waste, and today it sits at holding facilities and nuclear power plants.

You need to know if one of these facilities is in your geographical region. If so, there is no bug-in option in that location. You will need to make a plan to evacuate should a natural disaster or man-made event disrupt the storage tanks. If they were damaged, the radiation would spread downwind. You should be well out of that area before there is a danger. Practice evacuating your home. What would you bring? You should be packed and out of your home in five minutes to get the jump on the others smart enough to evacuate early.

The Great Quake triggers the Changing Earth Saga, and there have been massive earthquakes. The most powerful was in Chile Sunday, May 22nd, 1960. The quake registered a 9.5 on the Richter scale, striking 570km south of Santiago. It left six thousand people dead. On March 28th, 1964, a 9.2 earthquake struck southern Alaska. Dubbed “The Good Friday” quake, the earthquake left permanent ripples in the earth that our guest, Dave Jones, saw while stationed in Alaska. The third biggest earthquake was two 9.1 quakes. One hit off the coast of Sumatra in 2004, and the other struck off the coast of Japan in 2011.

Major quakes are possible anywhere in the world. The denser populations of humans increase the potential for more catastrophic disasters. Some areas of continents are more earthquake-prone, but often these areas have a fractured plate system, making it easier for the earth to absorb the movement. Other areas of the planet have large plates. When quakes happen in these areas, a much more significant portion of geography is affected. Science has proven that earthquake movement spreads around the earth and much more intensely around the “ring of fire,” an area surrounding the pacific ocean.

Is it possible for the entire globe to be shaken by an earthquake? Many ancient profits agree the answer is yes. The Bible references earth-shattering earthquakes in both the new and old Testaments. In Mathew 24:3, the disciples ask, “Tell us, when will this be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” Jesus replies:

“And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not alarmed; for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places: all this is but the beginning of the birth pangs.” (Mathew 24: 6-8)

The book of Revelations talks about catastrophic earthquakes, “When he opened the sixth seal, I looked, and there came a great earthquake; the sun became black as sackcloth, the full moon became like blood” (Revelation 6:12) and again in Revelation 6: 18-19 “And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a violent earthquake, such as had not occurred since people were upon the earth, so violent was that earthquake. The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell.

The old Testament also talks of earthquakes, which Isaiah mentions many times. One time of note is when he discusses the state of Jeruselum before the coming of the Messiah (Isaiah 29:6) “you will be visited by the Lord of hosts with thunder and earthquake and a great noise, with whirlwind and tempest, and the flame of devouring fire.”

Nostradamus is another famous prophet who foretells a Great Earthquake that will strike the earth. The travel channel aired a program called Nostradomous End of Days Seismic Threat that talks about Nostradaumous’s predictions for a significant quake. This famous french forecaster wrote his visions in a book with quatrains of coded language to share the information. Quatrain 9:83, he talks about a shaking that causes the land and sea to tremble, forecasting a mega quake. Many astrological hints that he leaves for the quake’s timing indicate a May date (curious that the earthquake in Chili happened in May). However, Nostradamus also leaves other clues about the location of the quake. He states that the earthquake will run the great theatre. LA could easily be seen as the theatre of the modern world. However, science also agrees that LA and the west coast is prime famous earthquake territory, as illustrated by the San Francisco 1906 quake and the World Series 1989 quake.

According to Nostradamus, “to darken and trouble air, sky and land,” with an earthquake that will “rend the land asunder.” A west coast earthquake of a 9 magnitude would echo up the faultline, causing gas and water lines to break, hospitals to crumble, and liquefaction that swallows everything. People would die, but many more would survive with no place to live and no infrastructure to provide food, water, medical assistance, or housing. If it hit LA and San Francisco, two of the largest cities in the fifth largest economy would be demolished, grinding world trade to a halt. And God helps us all if it ignited the volcanoes in the ring of fire.

However, the earthquake activity doesn’t stop there. The energy from the quake would ripple down the North American Creaton and cause an earthquake near Memphis. Nostradamus states, “All the roads will be improved. One will travel down them to the modern Memphis.” This area is no stranger to mega-quakes. The New Madrid fault experienced a series of magnitude 8 earthquakes that lasted nearly a month in December 1811. Nostradamus explains, “For several nights, the earth will tremble.”

The east coast is not built to sustain integrity in a quake of this magnitude. However, Nostradamus mentions two cities close to Memphis on the other side of the fault line, Ephesus & Corinth. If the Mississippi was torn apart, it would devastate commerce in the United States.

The Hopi have some amazing prophecies that everyone should hear. The prediction talks about the three world shakings or the World Wars and many other things that have come to pass, but it also talks about great earthquakes. Hopi elder Roberta Blackgoat explains, “All the suffering going on in this country with the tornadoes, floods, and earthquakes is carried on the breath of Mother Earth because she is in pain. They are trying to take her precious guts for money.” She insists that the earthquakes will increase as long as the imbalance continues.
